Ynysygerwn Cricket Club has always taken great pride in it's thriving and highly successful Junior Section with many Junior Players throughout the years having represented Wales at all ages, Young England, and Glamorgan & Gloucestershire County Cricket Clubs.  

We take our cricket and our training seriously but always focus on having fun and so in addition to over 100 fixtures taking place during the summer, the club are keen to include all members in our frequent social events, especially this year as we mark our 170th Anniversary.

Our links with local schools in the community are very strong as the club has been selected to participate in the nationwide “Chance to Shine” initiative run by the Cricket Foundation. We are also running this year in conjunction with the England & Wales County Cricket Board their brand new "All Stars Programme" for 5-8 years old, all boys & girls are welcome (see details below to sign-up).

Our Junior Section is run by Sean Evan's a qualified ECB Coach, Sean is supported by the Club's Head Coach, former Glamorgan and England A player, current Wales U15 and Wales Minor Counties Head Coach Darren Thomas, and Mark Davies, former Glamorgan and Gloucestershire County Cricketer and 7-time Ynysygerwn Club Captain. Youngsters playing cricket at Ynys receive the best coaching and the club has implemented all the recommended procedures for Child Protection and First Aid.

The club fields teams at U10, U11, U13, U15, and U17 which play league fixtures in the South Wales Junior Cricket League.
